Chapter 488 Ask My Wife

As soon as Alexa said this, everyone present began to question Cory. He was ashamed, so he left.

Rebekah made Alexa and Terrence stay for dinner.

Alexa asked, “Rebekah, where is Jason?”

“He went to the police station.”

The atmosphere was a little depressing when they had dinner.

Rebekah did not seem to be in high spirits.

After dinner, Alexa went to the attic to find the things with Terrence.

The lock on the door was rusty, and the key in Terrence’s hand also looked very old.

As soon as the door was opened, the smell of old dust greeted them.

“This used to be my grandfather’s lumber room,” Terrence said. “But since he had that accident, this place has been locked up.”

This was the forbidden area of the Ramsey family, and even Terrence had never come here.

He turned on the light, and only then did Alexa realize that the furnishings in the room were still in order.

It was an old man with a serious face holding an infant.

Terrence smiled, his expression soft.

“That’s our only photo.” He recalled and said, “Later, I learned to do business, and it was also him who taught me all the ABCs.”

“He must love you very much.”

Terrence smiled without saying a word.

He took a few documents from the safe and went out with Alexa. They found that

Jason had returned.

“I just went to the police station to meet Derick,” Jason said slowly. “He has all the evidence of Jovan’s crimes and has confessed everything.

“We’ve also found out everything Nina did.

“For so many years, their family has been working with Jovan, and they have done many nasty things.”

In fact, they knew this a long time ago.

But they had not gotten any evidence. Moreover, there was pressure from the elders of the family, so they didn’t act.

But it was different now.

For Terrence, this was a great opportunity to kick the bad ones out of the family.

“The procuratorate has already issued a warrant. This matter will come to an end very soon.”

Jason’s expression was very grim.

As far as Alexa could remember, he had been a calm person.

But after he said this thing, his gaze became gentle as he looked toward Alexa.

“Alexa, I’m really sorry,” Jason said sincerely. “Sorry for dragging you into all this.”

“We’re family. Don’t say such things.”

A smile returned to Jason’s face as he patted Terrence on the arm.

“Be good to your wife.”

“Yes.”

Terrence nodded and went downstairs with Alexa. Rebekah was coming up with a plate of fruit. She was apparently going to Jason.

“You are leaving?”

Terrence nodded.

“Dad is in the study.”

“Every time he is in a bad mood, he hides in the study,” Rebekah was used to it. “I’ll go and see him.”

“Okay,” Alexa replied.

It was already very late when she and Terrence arrived home.

“Thalia and Finley’s wedding is a week away,” Alexa said.

“Mr. Crompton will have the surgery tomorrow,” Terrence said. They casually chatted for a while and found that Damarion had quietly come downstairs.

“Damarion?”

Alexa said in surprise. She squatted down and took Damarion into her arms.

“Why haven’t you slept yet?”

Damarion looked a little unhappy.

“What’s bothering you?” Terrence asked with concern.

“Is Cole going to another school?”

Alexa glanced at Terrence and then explained tactfully.

“He said that he won’t have parents anymore.”

Alexa didn’t know how to reply for a while.

Damarion was very kind. Even though Cole had hurt him like that before, he still chose to forgive Cole.

“He doesn’t have many friends in kindergarten,” Damarion murmured.

“But I saw him secretly cry that day…”

“Damarion, it’s too late. We should go to sleep.”

Terrence changed the topic. He lifted Damarion and carried him upstairs.

“Dad, can you sleep by my side tonight?”

Damarion put his arms around Terrence’s neck in anticipation. But he smiled and looked at Alexa.

“You have to ask my wife if she allows it.”

Alexa winked at Damarion and nodded with a smile. Before going to bed, she went to see Verna.

There was a professional nursing team looking after Verna, so Alexa did not need to worry too much.

“Mrs. Ramsey.”

The nanny greeted her in a soft voice.

“Thank you for your hard work.”

Alexa smiled gently at her. The latter then said in a low voice.

“Verna is the sweetest child I have ever looked after. She is lovely and quiet.”

When Alexa was pregnant with Verna, she did not suffer much. Terrence was there for her from beginning to end. She had been in a good mood during her pregnancy and had encountered little

problems.

She sat next to Verna’s cradle for a while before going back.

Terrence kept his promise and slept by Damarion’s side tonight.

But early the next morning, he quietly came back.

Alexa was just about to get up when Terrence approached her and held her from behind.

“Sleep a little longer…”

“No.” Alexa rubbed against his chest. “I have to get up. I have something to do.”

“Just give me two minutes.”

Terrence stroked and kissed her neck until Alexa urged him several times before he reluctantly let go of her.

“Isn’t it the weekend? Where are you going?”

“I’m going to the hospital,” Alexa said. “Today, Thalia’s father will have the operation. I have to go and visit him.”

Without hesitation, Terrence got up and went with her. Because it was a big operation, Finley and the other experts had a meeting in the early morning to discuss it.

When Alexa and Terrence arrived, Thalia’s father was already sent into the operating room.

Thalia and Elena were waiting outside in the corridor. Both of them looked very nervous.

“Alexa.”

“Why do you look so tired? Did you not sleep well last night?”

“I couldn’t sleep.” Thalia sighed. “I asked Finley to give me some pills. He said I was just too anxious.” Alexa patted her back to tell her not to worry.

Elena began to babble again. At first, she hoped that the operation would be successful, and then she began to question Finley’s ability.

“Thalia, are you sure he is good…” Hearing this, Thalia was pissed off again.

“Mom, what’s the point in saying such things at a time like this?” she asked unhappily. “Why are you so dissatisfied with him? Why are you so hostile towards him?”

“I’m not questioning his ability. I was only asking. There’s no harm in it.”

“The latest investment that the Crompton Group received is from Finley.”

As soon as Thalia said it, the corridor immediately became quiet.
